STEP 1 - Self-Assessment

These explanatory answers – together with our course materials will help you master the fine-line distinctions, subtleties, and black-letter rules that are most frequently tested on the MBE.

STEP 2 – Targeted Learning

6 Bootcamp for the MBE Topic Outlines – Criminal Law and Procedure, Contracts, Constitutional Law, Evidence, Torts, Real Property – will cover all the substantive rules of law the MBE examiners test in the various subject areas. These outlines remove the topics and rules of law that may have been important in your law school course but are not tested on the MBE. Each outline also includes 33 questions extracted from the 200-Question Self-Assessment test with model answers.

STEP 3 – Knowledge Test

Bootcamp for the MBE: Simulated Questions and Answers gives you a full 200 question test that has the same distribution of subjects as a “real” MBE. Many of the questions are based on actual questions that have appeared on past MBEs. Explanatory answers have been researched and written to ensure accuracy.

STEP 4 – Refining Trouble Spots

2 Volumes of Emanuel Essentials feature MBE-format questions and answers organized by sub-topic to allow focus on your weaknesses after completion of the Simulated MBE.

STEP 5 – Final Review

Emanuel Confidential booklet includes the most useful material for condensed study in the final weeks before you take the MBE.

Steven L. Emanuel

Steve Emanuel’s life’s work has been to help law students become lawyers. While Steve was a first-year law student at Harvard Law School in 1974, he sat in his dorm room writing and publishing the first Emanuel Law Outline, in Civil Procedure. He gradually wrote and published additional titles in the Emanuel Law Outline series, while making a brief detour to practice law in New York City for two years in the mid 1970s. Today, the Emanuel line is the best-selling line of law school study aids, with more than 65 titles. As part of Emanuel Publishing Corp. (“EPC”), of which Steve was founder, president and owner, Steve created and/or acquired the Emanuel Law Outlines, Emanuel CrunchTime, Law in a Flash, Siegel’s Essay and Multiple-Choice Questions and Answers and Strategies & Tactics series, and has written or co-authored most of the titles in these series. Nearly 2 million copies of study aids authored or co-authored by Steve have been sold.

Steve sold EPC to Wolters Kluwer Law & Business in 2001, and continues to work full time doing all revisions on about 35 of the titles in the Emanuel Law Outlines, Emanuel CrunchTime, Law in a Flash, and Strategies & Tactics series. Steve is also the creator of Steve Emanuel’s Bootcamp for the MBE, a print + online MBE course that combines 36 hours of audio lectures, over 500 sample MBE questions, substantive outlines in each MBE subject and more, available from this website. “I’m proud that the majority of law students that have graduated from American law schools since 1980 have been users of products I helped create – it’s been a tremendously gratifying way to serve the legal profession,” Steve says.

Steve is a member of the New York, Connecticut, Maryland, and Virginia bars, and has passed the California bar but not yet been admitted to it. Steve is a graduate of Amherst College and Harvard Law School.
